Episode 13: PMT Blows

An episode devoted to instruments that function via the application of a wind. Also, for the first time ever PMT’s ranks expand for a one-off hootenanny of raucous rambunctiousness in what will go down in the history books as a balls-to-the-wall boring-o-rama the likes of which only Marillion have ever achieved.

And the guest is Andy.

Episode 12

We’re back!

This episode features puppetry, and may be the best PMT thus far (which isn’t saying much admittedly). The music is a bit quieter than I’d like, but you’re not missing much. So please enjoy. OR DIE.

More soon.

Bonus: P Solo 3 (PS3)

Continuing themes from my Time of the Month episode, this episode is me dicking about with a guitar with poor intonation that is supposed to be tuned to dropped B, which for those of you who don’t know is B F# B E G# C#, but I didn’t actually retune it for the episode so it’s probably completely and utterly out of tune, run through some software effects (including way too much reverb) into a cheap 12W practice amp. I Also experimented with lighting and re-colouring, for no particular reason.

Episode 11

And so, Episode 11, based mostly on a whim of Murray’s. Perhaps in the future we might learn to be less receptive to his whims. In terms of sheer embarrassment, this episode really is the one. And in the case of PMT, that’s saying something.

Episode 0

Uh, episode zero? How does that work? Here’s how:

Before PMT Jazzattack! came into being in its current form, we were working on a dumb film thing called “A Hat Made of Mexico”. Myself and Murray conceived of a really awful free Jazz Trio, and thus PMT was born, although it wasn’t PMT at the time, it was simply Jazz Trio. This was in early 2006, before moving to the current house as seen in every other episode of PMT.

So anyway, we performed a half-hour set of covers for the film, but the film itself (as with many of my grand ideas) was subsequently abandoned. Having enjoyed making the music, we decided to make it a more regular thing, and hence this show was born.

So, we have decided to show all three of our fans the second ever filmed performance (the first was a dress rehearsal of sorts) of PMT. Note our lack of equipment. Tom is playing guitar through computer speakers. Boy we were lo-fi in those days.

Episode 10: Paul’s Bloody Discharge

MAXIMUM VOLUME YIELDS MAXIMUM RESULTS

In a direct tribute to such acts as Khanate, Swans, Sunn O))), Earth, Kayo Dot, Fripp & Eno, Igor Stravinsky, Phillip Glass, Derek Bailey, Oren Ambarchi, Fred Frith, Jerry Garcia and other such exciting folk, PMT are proud to present this: an especially self-indulgent exploration of dark minimalism and extended textural sound explorations in what many will surely call an “utterly boring and pretentious episode, even by their standards.”

By leveraging the mood-enhancing power of candles in a keen sense of aesthetic, it is our intention that this episode be remembered if not for its “musical” content then for its narrow avoidance of accidental arson. In a remarkable coincidence, the landlord turned up the next day to post up HMO fire safety notices.
